The Liturgical Choir is a choral group at the University of Notre Dame’s Basilica of the Sacred Heart sponsored by the Office of Campus Ministry. Its repertoire is drawn on the diverse traditions of a cappella and accompanied sacred music from the Renaissance through the twentieth century.

The choir provides musical leadership for the Basilica’s 10 am Sunday Mass as well as for a variety of other Basilica and University liturgies such as Sunday Vespers, weddings, dedications, ordinations, Advent Lessons & Carols and special University liturgies such as Junior Parents’ Weekend and the Baccalaureate Mass. Holy Week is especially important to the Choir, who sings for Palm Sunday, Tenebrae, the Good Friday Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, the Easter Vigil, Easter Mass, and Easter Vespers.

Advent Lessons & Carols

The annual Advent Lessons and Carols service will feature all of the Basilica choirs, including the Notre Dame Liturgical Choir, Women’s Liturgical Choir, Folk Choir, Handbell Choir and Basilica Schola. All are welcome to attend.

Last Choir Football Game Concession Stand!

If you are on campus this Saturday, please visit the Notre Dame Liturgical Choir’s concession stand in front of O’Shaugnessy Hall! The concession stand is a major fundraiser for the Liturgical Choir and with the upcoming Vienna and Prague tour in 2016 the choir is eager to have a very successful concession stand this year. Enjoy a brat, burger, hot dog and refreshments for a great cause! T-shirts and CDs will also be available.
