…and high affections raise to crown this conquest with unmeasured praise."
Sing unto God (Excerpt)—G.F. Handel:
A perennial favorite of the Liturgical Choir, this chorus from G. F. Handel’s oratorio Judas Maccabeus illustrates our core identity. This excerpt comes from the Liturgical Choir’s newest CD, And I Saw a New Heaven.
The Liturgical Choir is a choral group at the University of Notre Dame’s “Basilica of the Sacred Heart”
Sponsored by the Office of Campus Ministry, the choir provides musical leadership for the Basilica’s 10 am Sunday Mass as well as for a variety of other Basilica and University liturgies.
On Aug. 16 (Friday), the University of Notre Dame celebrates 125 years of prayer and worship at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. The Most Rev. Daniel Robert Jenky, C.S.C., bishop of Peoria, Ill., will preside at a special 4 p.m. Mass that will also feature music from alumni of the Notre Dame Liturgical Choir. A reception in the Rotunda of the Main Building will follow. All are welcome to attend.
